The 2018 Saint-Aubin La Charmois 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with scents of apple blossom, wet limestone and a subtle hazelnut aroma that becomes more prominent with aeration. The palate is very harmonious and poised, the acidity a little more cutting than some of the other Saint-Aubins. The spicy, lemongrass-tinged finish lingers in the mouth. Recommended.
The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Charmois mingles aromas of citrus oil, pear, almond paste and struck match in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, bight and chalky, with a delicately textural attack and a nicely defined, saline finish, it's another fine success from the Bachelet brothers.
