Chateau Maison Blanche Medoc 2009 Rated 91 Points by the Wine Spectator $19.99 per bottle We have so many customers who are always looking for ready to drink Bordeaux that won't break the bank. This is a surprisingly difficult thing to find! We taste a lot of under $20 Bordeaux and most of it we find very unimpressive - muted or unripe or just boring, not very good wine. So when we find a wine like this, with a little bit of age on it, that drinks like a classically styled Bordeaux, we get excited! This wine from the Medoc is now 5 years old, so has calmed down quite a bit from what I assume it tasted like upon its release. This is a good thing, because as a wine ages, the components really meld together to create a well-balanced wine. In other words, this is pretty serious for $20! Leave it in your glass to aerate it, and it gets even better than upon opening the bottle! Rated 91 Points by the Wine Spectator - "Vibrant, with nicely packed raspberry, fig and blackberry fruit carried by mouthwatering acidity and well-embedded structure. Lots of anise, spice and tar frames the finish. Best from 2012 through 2019."
