The 2010 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard comes across as implosive and structured. Today the wine is quite reticent, as it is showing just the barest hint of its potential. The 2010 Ritchie impresses for its power and energy. This tightly coiled Chardonnay needs another year or two in bottle to show the full breadth of its potential. These 36-year-old vines are the oldest Aubert works with. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

Deeply perfumed, with expansive, detailed flavors of ripe pear, green apple, honeysuckle and light toasty oak. Very complete and balanced, ending with a hazelnut and roasted marshmallow note. Drink now through 2019.
