| Peach, musk melon, narcissus, orange blossom, and crushed stone in the nose of Chateau de Puligny's 2007 Meursault Les Poruzots lead into a rich, expansive, subtly creamy palate that is nevertheless laced with refreshing citrus and underlain by a sense of chalky mineral extract. Here is another instance of concentration and a sense of stuffing somehow allied to buoyancy. This finishes long and refined, offering a coolly herbal and citric, subtly saline, chalky and pungent rendition of its site that captivates me, although I can imagine that some tasters might find it almost too well-mannered. I would anticipate its being worth following for 6-8 years. |

| This offers a clear step up in size and weight though not necessarily elegance or finesse with a green fruit and nut butter nose that complements the naturally sweet, sappy, deep and delicious full-bodied flavors that coat and stain the palate with ample dry extract on the citrusy and tautly muscled finish. This is quite textured and offers a lovely mouth feel with that inner mouth perfume that adds considerably to the overall appeal. |
