Chateau Hyot Cotes de Castillon 2010

Rated 90 Points by the Wine Spectator

Only $14.99 per bottle!

This is our first wine to arrive from the 2010 vintage! We have had a lot of success with wines from the excellent 2009 vintage, not only in this value price range, but all the way up to the highest end wines. 2009 was an excellent vintage, with wines that are not only drinking well now, but also have the ability to age and mature if put in your wine cellar.

2010 was a vintage that is getting much of the same hype as 2009, with many vintners liking the 2010 better because of higher tannin and acidity levels that they believe will help the 2010s surpass the 2009s in the long term. Two great vintages back to back is good news for both consumers and the Bordeaux trade, especially since the 2011 vintage was nothing to write home about, and also unlike both 2009 and 2010, there is not much of a market in the US to purchase the '11's ahead of time in order to lock in quantities and pricing, which was done competitively in both 2009 and 2010.

The Chateau Hyot 2010 is a wine that I'm glad I had the opportunity to try ahead of time. Yes, this wine did receive a 90 Point rating from the Wine Spectator (with a release price of $17, which we were able to come in less than!), but other than that, there is practically no information about this winery on the Internet. So, between having the opportunity to try this wine at a trade tasting, and the 90 Point Wine Spectator score, this is a wine that is not too widely available, as it is very under the radar! Good news for our customers!

From The Wine Spectator - Rated 90 Points - "Very ripe, offering saturated cassis, blackberry and boysenberry pâte de fruit flavors that are racy and distinctive, thanks to fresh acidity and sleek tannins. The long finish has nice density. Drink now through 2016. 7,700 cases made."

As of the time that I am writing this, we have just over 23 cases available. I have a feeling that this wine will move quickly, if any of the last under $20 highly rated Bordeaux that we have had in stock are any indication of how popular this wine will be.

If interested, the best and fastest way to secure your order will be to click on the add to cart link and place an order through our website. If you would rather, you can also give me a call at (914) 937-4930. I will need your credit card information to hold any of this wine for you, as it is limited.

Cheers!
