Not only is $9.99 the lowest price that I could find for this highly rated wine anywhere on the Internet, but I don't think I've ever tried a Shiraz at this price point that is even close to as good! Well, I guess the reason why is that this is regularly a $14+ wine!
The very first thing that you will notice is the color - inky, dark and glass-staining. The nose comes next, and once you swirl a few times, the wine really opens up into a beautiful nose of dark fruits. On the palate, the weight of the wine is what you first notice, followed by intense, jammy fruit flavors which are balanced by a great structure (something not always found in wines at this price point), and a long, teeth-staining finish!
From the Wine Advocate - Rated 90 Points - "The 2010 Thomas Hyland Shiraz displays a deep garnet-purple color and aromas of ripe blackberry and cherry preserves plus hints of bacon, pepper, tree bark and cedar. Concentrated and taut on the medium-bodied palate, it has crisp acidity and a medium level of grainy tannins, finishing long. Drink it now to 2019."
