Just Released - Wine Spectator #4 Wine of the Year!

Share |

Only the Top 10 has been released so far from the Wine Spectator Top 100 List of 2011 (the rest to follow next week), and we are very happy to have in stock right now, while supplies last, the #4 wine:

Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino 2006

Rated 96 Points by the Wine Spectator

#4 Wine of the Year on the Top 100 list

"The 50-acre Campogiovanni estate in Montalcino was acquired in the early 1980s by Chianti producer Agricola San Felice. About 30 acres of vines, the oldest of them planted in the mid-1960s, are used for its Brunello. Winemaker Leonardo Bellaccini replanted other parcels in 1982, 1988 and 1997, using both selection and clones. This red, aged three years in large, Slavonian oak barrels and one year in bottle, benefited from the excellent 2006 vintage.

Licorice, sweet spices, toast, smoke and sanguine aromas and flavors envelop a kernel of raspberry in this intense, extroverted red, which is complex, focused and structured, with an expansive finish. There's fine potential, but needs time. Best from 2014 through 2027."

Grab this wine while it lasts, and we will keep you updated on the rest of the Top 100 List when it comes out.

Cheers!
