The 2008 Santa Rita Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva is the best vintage of this wine that I have ever tried. Typically, I have found this wine to be a little too far on the herbal side for me, slightly more unbalanced herbally than I prefer. However, with the 2008 vintage they got it right! Delicious medium- to full-bodied Cabernet with distinctly Chilean character, and great balance. This wine is a steal at our sale price of $12.99 per bottle!
Wine Spectator rated 90 Points - "Very solid for the vintage, with crushed plum, fig and black current fruit nicely woven with maduro tobacco and bittersweet cocoa notes. There's a loam edge on the finish, but this stays solidly fleshy through the end. Drink now through 2013."
