What a Value in Bordeaux! This Wine Drinks Like Double its Price!

Chateau Promesse de Soleil 2008

Puisseguin-St. Emilion

We were very excited when we tasted this delicious Bordeaux, along with some others that will be coming into stock closer to the holidays.

The mission behind this property was to choose excellent vineyard sites in Bordeaux, and to put the time and effort into making great wines. The owners, which include Stephan von Neipperg (who owns such properties as Canon la Gaffeliere, La Mondotte and d'Aiguilhe), found their vineyards in St. Emilion.

Honestly, I was surprised that we would be able to sell this wine for $16.99 per bottle. It just didn't seem right! The wine is as good or better than wines that we have tried for $35+, and it is drinking very well right now! This wine would still be a fantastic value at $19.99, so take advantage of trying it at this super low price!

Very characteristic of Bordeaux with a silky mouthfeel, black currant, some raspberry - the midpalate is delicious fruit - with a nice backbone and soft tannins on the finish. This is as good, or better than, any Bordeaux that we have had around recently in the $20 and under price range, and I'm very happy to be able to offer it to you!

Cheers!
